At Baden-Wurttembergische Bank, a regional bank partly owned by the state government, I'm also given the brush-off at the ugly looking, nine-story head office building near the city center. It definitely has the 1960's look to it.

I had sent my advance letter to Mr. G. Mayer-Voffelder-Chairman. Denise Rennmann, Media Relations, steps out into the lobby and says Mayer-Voffelder is retired and was never was an executive but head of the supervisory board. "Would someone else have opened the letter and passed it on?", I ask. She doesn't know but smugly goes on to say "the current CEO wouldn't be interested in the company participating in your project".
