Hotel Waldhaus Sils
Want to enjoy all the benefits of St. Moritz but without having
to stay there? Then head a mere six miles away to the picturesque
village of Sils-Maria and the 5-star Hotel
Waldhaus. Nestled on a forested hill
between two lakes the Hotel Waldhaus stands guard over the village. More than 100 years-old,
the hotel is still owned and operated by same founding family
(fourth generation). All rooms
are non-smoking. Great fun to wander the halls,
stairways and public rooms to
admire the various historical pictures and objects on display.
Of course, the hotel has all the usual attributes of a 5-star
resort such as tennis courts, swimming
pool, well-kept grounds and
multiple dining venues. Guests receive complimentary passes for
use on trains and buses in the valley. Every 20-30 minutes a
bus stops in the village, then makes the 10-minute trip to St.
Moritz's city center/train station--meaning a car isn't needed
here. Lots of hiking trails in the area including a nearby ski lift. Website: www.waldhaus-sils.ch.
